every day. And I’m not perfect and that’s ok.

My Work

I’ve been working in the fitness industry for over 20 years. My clients, trainings, and certifications have helped me grow in my profession, allowing me to serve people more fully. And everything I’ve learned has also helped me become stronger and healthier. Although my athletic prowess looks different in my mid-40’s, I have been at my favorite sport, running, for 30 years!

What have I done and where have I been?

After earning my master’s degree in Health Communication from Emerson College, I moved to San Diego. I worked as a personal trainer, health educator for brain and spinal cord injury prevention, and a fitness director. Life moved me to San Francisco where I worked as a personal trainer and with the birth of my first kiddo I launched a Stroller Strides/Fit4Mom franchise! I operated my small business for six years before we moved one more time to Portland, OR. In Portland I coached track and field and cross country for six years, worked as a group exercise instructor for a local studio, and ran a personal training studio out of my garage. During these years I kept on gathering certifications that I was interested in, but I felt like I couldn’t really use them while just operating out of my home studio. I wanted to reach and help more people, so I searched for a new home for my business. I was very lucky to find United Athletic Club and I am so grateful that they wanted me to join their team!

I love my work!

Helping people feel strong and happy in their bodies has brought a ton of joy to my life. I’ve been fortunate to work with a lot of people from various backgrounds and professions and it’s been cool to know that the work that I do helps someone do the work they want to do.

My goal is always to put into action all of the training, education, and experience I’ve gathered over the past 20 years to bring personalized training, strength and joy to each client.

“Every day, I consider my nutrition and I ask myself, ‘What can I add to make it the most nutritious?’ When I consider my movement, I ask myself, ‘Am I giving myself what my body craves as well as honoring what it needs?’ When I consider my mind I ask myself, ‘Am I present? Am I intentional? Am I speaking and moving with care and love for others and myself?’ These things are what health means to me. Every day is different. Every moment is unique. Let’s practice, together, in being our best in each moment we are given.

What People Are Saying

I do feel it bears mentioning Keely the person, outside of strict fitness training. She focuses on the person as a whole: mind, body and spirit. She isn’t a kook or anything. She just realizes that we are at our best physically when we are doing well mentally. She is a wonderful person to talk to about any issues you are having and introduced me to the best group of women in San Francisco. Seriously, she rocks. Go see her and try to play down the fact that Liz is a little obsessed.

If you’re looking for a fun, kind, energetic encourager who will be your champion as you fight to get that six pack back, or burn off those baby pounds, Keely is your gal. She’s still in my corner, even hundreds of miles away!

— KATHERINE R.

Not only was she excellent for my gluteous maximus, she made a terrific workout partner—always upbeat and energetic, and always with a helpful idea or comment. Her workouts are fun and tailored to your strengths

— KAT R.

“I think the biggest difference between Keely and other trainers is Keely herself. There are many who are just cheerleaders and many are just about the exercise and getting the work done. Keely is both. She has this way about her that puts you immediately at ease, which then makes it much easier to admit where you need help and what you want to achieve. Once this is known, she will work tirelessly to come up with an achievable plan and check in with you to keep you on track. I highly recommend Keely for training and group exercise. She is the person you want in your corner, she is the one I look to for inspiration in how to stay healthy (mentally and physically)
